It's very important to read the "General Information and Rules" before you make your Fair Entry plans. Don't get disqualified for not following the rules. Since we have changed so much in the Home Economic Show this year, it is doubly important to be informed. Join all the Home Bakers and Crafters for a fun and challenging Home Economics Show at the Kauai County Farm Bureau FAIR.
The Home Economics Show Open Judging Contest this year will feature Kauai Grown Fruit Pies. Bring your home made pie to the Show tent on Saturday, August 27 at 12:30 p.m. The pie must be pre-registered on Thursday, August 25, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon at the Kauai County Farm Bureau Fair. Any type of Kauai Grown Fruit Pie will eligible for entry. A pie needing refrigeration will be accepted as long as it is transported in an ice cooler with cooling medium. The entry may be presented in your own pie dish and covered in an appropriate manner to protect your pie. Recipe must accompany the entry. Ribbons and prize money will be awarded to exceptional pies.
Hey, kids!!! Bring your Lego construction projects to the Kauai County Farm Bureau Fair Home Economics Show, Thursday, August 25, 2011 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon and enter in our Youth Lego Contest. It's open to Youth only and must not be made from a kit. With school already starting this would be an excellent opportunity for Lego Clubs at school to begin individual projects to enter in the Fair. You could win a ribbon or a cash prize. Last year we had 27 entries. For further information call Lenore Klass, 742-9358.
